2020 EVENT Canceled
With heavy hearts and out of an abundance of caution, the Tri-Cities Geocoin Challenge scheduled for June 25-28, 2020 is canceled. This was not an easy decision to make, however, we believe it is the right decision. We will resume the event in 2021 and continue to focus our planning efforts towards next year’s event scheduled for June 24-27, 2021. Please mark your calendars and we look forward to seeing you all in 2021!

We Are Dedicated to fun
Hope you can join us for our 11th Annual Tri-Cities Geocoin Challenge.
If you have never been to our event, this will be a great year to make the trek to the beautiful Tri-Cities, WA. Yes, there are four cities involved, but we are still considered the “Tri-Cities.”We are looking forward to a packed weekend of fun.
WORLD CLASS caching EXPERIENCE
Welcome to a world-class caching experience. Our team specializes in providing a fun, family friendly environment for cachers of all ages. We want to provide an event that will entertain and keep you coming back year after year. Our event is coordinated by a team of volunteers that start working up to nine months before the summer event. The volunteers dedication, professionalism, and drive will allow us to achieve the exciting event you’ve been dreaming about.
Co-Events
Thursday – dinner and poker run
The dinner event is usually held at a local restaurant. We try to find an establishment that has room to hold all of us but its not always easy to find a place for a party of 200. In the past we have held events at Round Table pizza in Richland, Round Table pizza in Pasco and most recently at Shakey’s pizza in Pasco. I am seeing a trend here either cachers like to eat pizza or these might be a few a the places that can accommodate our large party size. After dinner our volunteers will explain the poker run rules and hand out the poker run sheets.
Friday – Meet and greet
Our meet and greet event is a great way to meet other cachers. We have seen many out of state and foreign cachers find a ride for the weekend and end up being great friends afterwards. This event typically offers some kind of games to help everyone meet and get rid of that awkward feeling of introducing yourself to someone you don’t know. This will also be the event that you turn in your poker run sheet and draw your poker hand? Last we typically have some food trucks available on site so you can enjoy dinner while visiting.
Sunday – Cito
The final event held is a CITO. Our city parks and recs department are very gracious and allow us the use of the park. Its only fitting as geocachers that we return the favor and leave the park in better condition then we found it.
Previous years coins
2019 – The atom
10tH anniversary
10 years in the making, this popular coin was dreamed up many years ago. Eventually that dream came to reality and the 2019 coin was created.
2018 – Taste of the
Tri-cites
The 2018 coin was designed with a steampunk feel but also has inspirations from caching and food. The place setting has a fork/grabber tool, knife/pen, spoon/mirror and the plate with the 2018 theme and some secrets for a bonus cache.
2017 – Fire and ICE
These four 2017 coins were a complete set, one coin representing each city Kennewick, Pasco, Richland and West Richland as well as the 2017 theme of Fire and Ice. Each beautiful set of these coins were distributed with a laser engraved wooden display stand for cachers to display their coins.
2016 – Mysteries of the mid-Columbia
2016 had a very unique coin with 4 removeable parts that when placed on the coin in the proper order would lead you to the bonus cache.
